Basic Animation

This tutorial shows you how to create with the TAB a complex scene in a few steps, starting from the drawing process up to the definition of a camera movement in a 3D environment. Then the result will be exported in the Macromedia® Flash™ SWF format, QuickTime or Avi, in order to publish it in a Web site.

During the tutorial you will move from a working environment to another (room), according to the operations to accomplish. Four rooms are available: we can select the current one by using the tabs on the right of the menu bar.
1. Drawing Your Hero
Create the main character for the scene by using drawing tools, and model drawn lines with the TAB modifier tools.
2. Painting with Styles

Assign colors to lines and areas and use special styles to create gradients and blurs.

3. Animating by Inbetweening
Define a second key-drawing by modifing the first one, and create in-between drawings automatically.
4. Setting up the Countryside
Add drawings to create country hills and clouds in the sky.
5. Planning the Scene in Depth
Repeat and duplicate drawings in the scene to fill the sky of clouds, and set object position in a 3D environment.

6. Behind the Camera

Move the camera creating automatically a multiplane effect.
7. Let the Super-sheep Fly
Set key positions for the flying sheep and make it fly in the sky.
8. Saving, Exporting and Publishing
Save the scene and export it for web publishing.
