"First
of all I imported a BMP image
of the Alcisa logo in the TAB
and I traced one pig only, as
the three pigs aren't very different
one from another. At the beginning
I drew the whole pig on one
level only; then I separated
each part of the pig's body
on a level apart, with simple
copy & paste operations
on empty columns."
"I painted each level with
flat colors and I created a
level for the shadows and another
for the lights. To use a kind
of airbrush effect I chose the
"Fade" special style.
I saved in the palette several
versions of this style, with
different tones and transparency
values, and I used them to draw
all the body shadows and lights
of my character. The Pump, the
Magnet and the Iron tools were
very useful to shape up my shadows."

"To animate the walk I
used a hybrid of motion interpolation
and manual inbetweening: after
having assigned some rotation
to legs and arms with keyframes,
I made some adjustments to drawings
in order to adapt them frame
by frame. I mainly used the
Pinch tool in this session."
"I gave two loops of a
walking pig (one with the pig
dressed in red and one in white)
to the composer and she used
them for the final video compositing."

Florio, animator.
